I don't really accept the arguments of people complaining about prices anyway - they are not compulsary to buy and games companies know their own business overheads better than outspoken fans. With the release of Wrath and Glory, I think the priority in the PDF release was towards the preorder buyers. By allowing them to be published, by third parties if necessary, it widens their net. Why do they have RPGs at all? Because it enhances the brand to develop an evocative backstory to their games - and rpgs do that job better than most, even if they aren't as profitable. That's where the money is, and to be honest, I can't blame them. Moreover, the whole reason why GW became an international, retail chained, mega-corp was essentially because they switched from roleplaying games towards minature games in the late 80s. For smaller companies, like FFG or Ulysses Speile, W40KRP is a huge license - but not by Games Workshop's standards.
